Drinking cultures in Europe are still highly diversified - RARHA SEAS study reports from 19 European countries

Differences in northern/eastern vs. southern European drinking cultures still persist in terms of drinking frequency and amounts of alcohol drunk per drinking day.

Reformed CAP should end with special treatment for wine

The European Commission should end with the mantra of the specificity of the wine sector. Wine is a food product produced for sale and human consumption in the EU internal market, like any other. The EU should seize CAP revision as an opportunity to end with the ‘special case’ ‘specificity’ of the wine sector.

The open letter to the WHO DG candidates, addressing the issue of conflicts of interests, asking them how they will ensure integrity, independence and credibility of the WHO as the new DG. The letter has now got 63 signatories.

Foul Play? New report highlights how Alcohol industry bent the rules on advertising during UEFA Euro 2016

A new report highlights how alcohol producers worked to circumvent legislation designed to protect children during the UEFA Euro 2016 football tournament. Researchers at the Institute for Social Marketing, University of Stirling, found over 100 alcohol marketing references per televised match programme in three countries – France, the UK and Ireland.

Members of European Parliament will not protect young people against alcohol marketing

Members of the European Parliament (MEP) in the Committee on Culture and Education (CULT) have today on April 25, voted on the draft report by Sabine Verheyen and Petra Kammerevert on Coordination of certain provisions laid down by law, regulation or administrative action in Member States concerning the provision of audiovisual media services in view of changing market realities.
