UN General Assembly ask for High Level meeting on Non-Communicable Diseases
The United Nations General Assembly decides to convene a high-level UN meeting in September 2011 on the prevention and control of non-communicable diseases.

Tackling the three main killers on the roads: countries progress but too slowly
5 May 2010. The ETSC (European Transport Safety Council) has launched its 16th Road Safety PIN Flash measuring EU countries' progress since 2001 in tackling excessive speed, drink driving and non-use of seat belts which remain the three main killers on EU roads.

Portugal - new measures to prevent drink driving
Forty distinguished road safety experts gather today in Lisbon to discuss strategies to reduce alcohol misuse in road transport at the first “Safe and Sober” Talk held in Portugal. The event was organised by the European Transport Safety Council (ETSC) and the Portuguese Road Safety Authority (ANSR) in the framework of ETSC's “Safe & Sober” drink driving programme. The “Safe & Sober” campaign is run by ETSC in partnership with the VOLVO Group.

UK Government bans irresponsible promotions
