Now available draft Global Strategy to Reduce Harmful Use of Alcohol

The document consist of three parts:
- The report by the secretariat, including a draft resolution for consideration by the WHO Executive Board
- Annex 1 – the draft strategy itself
- Annex 2 – a two page summary of the evidence for the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of interventions.
In addition there is also a bibliography on evidence of harmful use of alcohol published in a separate document on the same web page.
The new draft introduces some changes to the Working Document which was published in late August. Although the structure of the document remains more or less the same, the “Core components”, “Measures to support and complement actions at national levels” and “Implementation considerations” for each policy area has been removed from the "Policy options and interventions" section, although some of the text is incorporated in other places.
