Brussels: night-time booze sales ban during European Championships

The City of Brussels has banned the sale of alcohol in night shops between 11pm and 7am for the duration of the European Championships. The ban will come into force on 10 June and will last until 10 July.

News from a meeting at the Parliament on ‘Limiting alcohol damages’

Public-health experts and members of the alcohol industry attended a meeting chaired by Swedish MEP Jytte Guteland at the European Parliament earlier this month. The meeting aimed at exploring national, sustainable models to tackle alcohol damages from a holistic health and societal perspective, where the specific cases of Scotland and Sweden were discussed.
