Green Crescent welcomes Eurocare and SHAAP at event in Istanbul

On 25 May, Green Crescent hosted in its headquarters in Istanbul a panel discussion on European and Scottish Alcohol Policy with the participation of Turkish Alcohol Policy Platform (TAPP), Eurocare and Scottish Health Action on Alcohol Problems (SHAAP).

The Turkish Alcohol Policy Platform (TAPP) is a public-health platform that conducts advocacy, lobbying, research, observation, data creation, reporting and awareness raising work. Their representative, Nesrin Özkan presented information on ongoing Turkish alcohol policies.

Eric Carlin spoke on behalf of SHAAP, and his presentation focused on the current legal fight to introduce the minimum unit price for alcohol in Scotland.

Paulo Nunes de Moura spoke on behalf of Eurocare. His talk included current developments in European alcohol policy, and he spoke specifically on the recent calls for an Alcohol Strategy and labelling guidelines.

Eurocare would like to thank Ahmet Zeki Olas (Green Crescent) and Nesrin Özkan (TAPP) for having organised the event, and also for their warm hospitality.
