Women and Alcohol in the EU

The European Institute of Women's Health has published a new policy brief looking at women’s relationship with alcohol (consumption levels and patterns, trends, effects of alcohol consumption on women’s health etc).

June 2013. The policy brief covers a wide range of issues from alcohol and pregnancy, to the link between alcohol and violence (including domestic violence) or the marketing of alcohol to women.

The paper calls for the adoption of measures to tackle the issue of alcohol during pregnancy, increase awareness of the major issues, improve data collection and the adoption of a new robust EU Alcohol strategy.
