29.08.2011: The Liberal Democrats are examining plans for a “per drink surcharge” that will help pay for extra police, street cleaners and cover the cost of treating alcohol-related health problems. But there are fears that moderate drinkers will be forced to pay the new tax which councils may apply too widely.
