European Alcoho... / Media Centre / Upcoming Events / 2nd Awareness Week on Alcohol Related Harm (24-28.11.2014), Brussels and Strasbourg

Following on from the success of the first Awareness Week on Alcohol Related Harm (AWARH) which was held in Brussels in May 2013, European Alcohol Policy Alliance (Eurocare), the European Liver Patients Association (ELPA), the European Association for the Study of the Liver (EASL), the European Federation of Associations of Families of People with Mental Illness (EUFAMI), and Lundbeck, will join forces once again, with the added support of UEG and EBC, to organise the 2nd AWARH.

This year’s week will take place from 24th to 28th November and events will be held in Brussels and Strasbourg.

The aim of the week is to highlight the overwhelming burden of alcohol-related harm in Europe amongst decision makers and politicians, and call for targeted policies at EU and national level.

Further information relating to the proposed activities for this year will be available from mid-July.

In the meantime if you are interested in joining the efforts of the AWARH partners please do not hesitate to contact Margaret Walker, ELPA CEO, at the AWARH Secretariat (
