Branded New World? Product placement under the new AVMS Directive

Since the December 2009 deadline, all EU countries should have transposed the new Audiovisual Media Services ( AVMS) Directive into their national legislation. This new legal instrument – which replaces the former Television without Frontiers Directive (TVwF) – includes new provisions regulating product placement.
A new publication of the European Audiovisual Observatory (which is part of the Council of Europe) analyses the transposition of this new set of rules.
