WHO to hold meetings with different stakeholders

As part of the preparatory work for the release of a Global Strategy to reduce alcohol related harm, the WHO will hold a round table meeting with NGOs and health professionals on 24-25 November 2008 in the WHO headquarters in Geneva.

The meeting will look at ways in which NGOs and professional associations can contribute to reduce alcohol related harm and will explore ways for more structured interaction between civil society organisations and the WHO Secretariat at the global level.

Ms Mariann Skar, Secretary General of Eurocare, will be representing Eurocare at the meeting.

The WHO has already held a meeting with the economic operators last 6 November.
