What we do

Labelling and health warnings

Fighting for the Right to Know

Eurocare believes citizens have a right to be fully informed when making decisions about consuming alcohol. There is no better way to do this than to ensure that key health information is there on label, making it readily available at the time of purchase and consumption. Our policy papers set out why and how EU alcohol labelling needs to change to respect citizens’ rights.

For centuries, images related to alcohol have been used as a marketing tool to increase products’ appeal and decrease the perceived level of alcohol harm. Labelling and health warnings are key components of a comprehensive, integrated approach to alcohol policies which governments can use to inform the public on the dangers of alcohol consumption.
